A Message to Parents
This is our opinion, others may of course disagree with it

Our Message to Parents:

The benefits of saving your baby's Cord Blood are outlined throughout this website. Whether or not you decide to bank your baby's Cord Blood is obviously a decision left to the individual parent.

Most parents hope that nothing wrong will happen to their children as they grow up, this includes any form of disease. By saving your child's Cord Blood should the unexpected ever happen, there is hope. Many forms of cancer, bone marrow abnormalities, blood abnormalities, metabolism abnormalities and immunodeficiency disorders can be treated. Other family members can also be saved.

If you suspect that your family is at a higher risk due to genetic disorders in the past, you should seriously consider cord blood banking.

The costs involved for most families will be the deciding factor. For some families these costs are minor, for others they are significant. The ongoing annual fee is what scares away most potential parents. Our opinion is if the costs to you are minor you should take the steps necessary to do this, if the costs are going to be a burden to your financial situation, then you may feel it's not a priority.

Either way, don't allow the opinions of friends or family dissuade you if you feel it's in the best interest of you and your baby to save its cord blood.
